Luk rules
1. What Luk is
Luk is a classifieds board in Pattaya. Listings are posted by the users themselves: they sell and buy things, rent out housing and vehicles, offer services and jobs. Luk helps people find each other and agree in messages, but Luk itself sells nothing, provides no services and takes no part in the deal: it does not take payment, deliver or store goods.
Luk does not check the licences, permits or qualifications of sellers, service providers and employers. If this matters to you, check everything yourself before the deal.
The service is run by the Luk team. You can write to us at support@luk.markets or contact support.
2. Account
- Luk is for people who are 20 or older.
- Your account is personal: don't give anyone else access to it or to the email you sign in with.
- Sign in with your own permanent email, Google or Telegram.
- You may not create another account to get around a restriction or a block.
- You are responsible for everything posted and sent from your account.
- Other users see the name in your profile. You can change it in settings.
- You can delete your account in settings: for 7 days the deletion can be cancelled, after that your profile and listings are deleted. What is kept after deletion and for how long is described on the “Privacy” page.
3. Listings
- Describe your offer honestly: what it is, its condition or terms, and the price.
- The author is responsible for the offer being legal. It must be legal in Thailand. If the job, service or sale needs a work permit, a licence or a registration, you must have it. You pay the taxes on your income yourself.
- One offer per listing. A listing describes one clear offer: a thing or a set that is really sold together, one home, one vehicle, one service or one job. Don't combine unrelated offers to save listings. Post them separately.
- Don't post duplicates of the same offer: if the listing already exists, edit it or put it back on Luk.
- Use your own photos that belong to the listing. The first photo becomes the cover: people see it in the catalog and in search.
- Choose the right category. Luk suggests one based on your description; “Other” is for listings that don't fit any section.
- You can have up to 40 active listings at a time.
- New account. For the first 3 days after sign up you can publish no more than 10 new listings and start no more than 10 new conversations per hour.
- Luk group in Telegram. If your city has its own Luk group in Telegram, your listing may also appear there: with a link to the listing, without your name and contacts. When the listing leaves Luk, the post is deleted. To keep a listing out of the group, untick “Also post in the group” when you publish, or use the switch on the listing's management page.
- How long a listing stays up depends on the section: 30 days for things, animals and jobs; 60 for vehicles for sale; 180 for property for sale; 14 days for renting out apartments, houses and rooms; a year for other rentals and services. 3 days before the end Luk will remind you, and you can extend the listing; for housing rentals Luk reminds you a day before: “Still for rent” extends the listing for another 14 days, “Rented out” takes it down. After the end it waits one more day for renewal, then it is taken down. You can bring it back from “My listings”.
Property
- Only real places at the real price. A listing for an apartment, house, room, commercial space or land describes a specific property that is available for rent or sale right now at the stated price. Rented it out or sold it? Tap “Rented out” or “Sold”: that is normal and not a violation.
- Bait listings are prohibited. You may not post a property that doesn't exist, or a price at which it is not rented out or sold, to get people to write to you and then offer them something else.
- Checks after a report. We do not run extra checks on property listings before they are published. If a buyer reports that the property doesn't exist or the price is different, we will ask you to reply within 48 hours: tap “Rented out” or send a photo of the property with a sheet of paper on which “Luk”, the code from the request and today's date are handwritten. While we check the photo, the listing stays visible. Without a reply the listing is taken down. You can bring it back from “My listings”.
- A bait listing breaks the rules. For the first one the listing is taken down and the account gets a warning. For a repeat one the account is blocked permanently: its listings are hidden, and it can no longer publish or send messages. You can appeal the decision.
Jobs
- We check jobs before they are published. A listing in the “Jobs” section appears on Luk only after a check, usually within a day. Changes to a published job are checked too, and while the check is in progress the previous version is shown. You can extend and bump a job without a check.
- You may not post:
- jobs outside Thailand that involve moving or paid travel, including in Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos;
- jobs where the applicant has to pay: for training, a uniform, a “deposit”, paperwork or anything else;
- receiving money or cryptocurrency on your own cards and accounts, “payment processing”;
- “courier”, “easy money” or “high income with no experience” without a description of the actual work;
- work as a model, hostess or escort.
- We will not publish such a job and will tell you why.
4. If the listing is yours
If you found your own listing on Luk that you didn't post yourself, tap “Is this your listing?” above its photo: you can take it over (it becomes an ordinary listing of your account) or delete it. If that doesn't work, write to support or to support@luk.markets, and we will help.
5. Companies
New company profiles are not being accepted right now. The rules below describe a company profile for the future.
- A shop, service, agency or other business can create a company profile for free. Post commercial listings from the company and private ones from yourself. Personal listings, favorites and messages are not mixed with the company.
- The name, logo and description must be your own. You may not pose as another company, organization or well-known brand or use someone else's logo. If you are an official representative of a brand, write to support.
- The address of a shop or office is visible to everyone. If you visit clients or work from home, the page shows only the area. The company's contacts are visible after tapping “Show contacts”.
- Company profiles are reviewed. While the review is in progress, the company's page and listings are not visible to others.
- A company has its own limit: 40 active listings. You are responsible for everything posted and sent on behalf of the company.
6. What you can't post
- drugs and substances that replace them;
- weapons, ammunition and their main parts, as well as replica weapons: airsoft, air, blank firing and dummy ones;
- sexual services and escort;
- fake documents, diplomas, certificates and visas;
- services that break visa and immigration rules: “we'll fix your overstay”, “a stamp despite violations”, help with entry despite a ban;
- currency and cryptocurrency exchange;
- loans, credit and “investments” that promise income;
- prescription drugs without a prescription;
- vapes and e-cigarettes, liquids and cartridges for them, their sale and delivery;
- alcoholic drinks, including beer, wine and homemade alcohol, their sale and delivery;
- betting, bookmaker services, casinos and online casinos, lottery tickets, as well as accounts, balances and bonuses for gambling;
- any other offers prohibited by the law of Thailand.
An ordinary visa run and transfer, airsoft gear without replica weapons (uniform, goggles, masks) and air tools are allowed. Empty bottles and other containers, glasses and barware, wine fridges, home brewing equipment and soft drinks are allowed too.
Words like “buying”, “looking for” or “need” don't break any rules by themselves. What matters is what exactly is offered.
7. Messages
- Keep messages to the point and respectful: no spam, insults or threats.
- Don't send the same message to many people and don't send links to suspicious sites.
- If the other person breaks the rules, report them from the conversation: mark the messages in question. They will not know who reported them.
8. Reviews and decisions
Luk reviews listings against these rules. Jobs appear only after a review; sometimes other listings are reviewed this way too. If a listing or an account breaks the rules, Luk may hide the listing, restrict certain actions of the account, or block the account for 1, 7 or 30 days or permanently. While a block is in place, the listings and profile are not visible to others, and the account cannot publish, start conversations or send messages; when the block ends, everything comes back by itself. You will see the reason and can appeal the decision: the appeal is reviewed by the Luk team.
We usually review reports within 24 hours. Whatever breaks the rules or the law is taken down. At the lawful request of the authorities of Thailand we take down content and hand over information about users to the extent the law requires.
9. Deals
You agree on payment and handover directly with the other person. Meet in busy places, check the item before paying and don't send prepayment to strangers. More on the “Safe deals” page.
10. Changes to the rules
We may update the rules as Luk develops. We will tell you about significant changes in advance. You can ask questions about the rules through support or at support@luk.markets.
